Reviews and Ratings
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were lovely and warm, and I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The evening meal had a wide choice on the menu, but it's advisable to reserve a table as it gets busy. Breakfast offered a good selection of real fresh fruit, yogurts, and cooked breakfast options. The evening bar had a wide selection of real ales and lagers at reasonable prices. The cleanliness was impeccable, especially in the very clean bathroom and the car park was convenient.
The hotel offers spacious rooms with all required facilities and toiletries. Although the room was hot at night and had a smell issue initially, after a thorough clean and a change of the shower curtain, the room became much more pleasant. The service was fantastic, especially with Ryan the Manager and Julie in the Breakfast Room. Beth, a server in the restaurant, was particularly lovely and helpful. The location is good for a touring break, with lots of parking and a nice pub below for food and drinks, but it might be too far to walk to town or the railway station. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with some dishes being excellent while others were disappointing. The hotel facilities were satisfactory, offering some basic amenities for a comfortable stay.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were lovely and the bed was very comfortable. However, the room I got was quite small and noisy due to the road traffic, which disturbed my sleep. The service was a bit of a letdown as some staff members were rude and defensive, although others were pleasant. The location was convenient for exploring the area, with attractions like Buckfast Abbey and Dartmoor within reach. The dining options were excellent with a good selection, but some improvements in service quality were needed. Overall, the facilities were decent, offering basic amenities for a comfortable stay, but there were some ups and downs in different aspects.
